PRATT & WHITNEY CANADA ET ILYUSHIN SIGNENT UN PROTOCOLE D’ENTENTE POUR RÉALISER UNE ÉTUDE DE FAISABILITÉ VISANT À SOUTENIR LA RELANCE DU PROGRAMME D’AÉRONEFS RÉGIONAUX IL-114-100
Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) a signé un protocole d’entente avec la société par actions russe Ilyushin visant à explorer la possibilité d’un approvisionnement en moteurs PW127H en vue de la relance du programme des aéronefs à turbopropulseur IL-114-100 destinés au transport régional. P&WC est une société d’United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
En vertu du protocole d’entente, signé lors de l’édition 2017 du Salon international de l’aéronautique et de l’espace (SIAE) de Paris qui se tient au Bourget en France, P&WC soutiendra la relance du programme initial en fournissant deux moteurs PW127H qui équiperont le turbopropulseur régional IL-114-100. Par ailleurs, Ilyushin et P&WC tenteront de parvenir à une entente à long terme concernant les futurs programmes de fabrication d’appareils à turbopropulseur destinés au transport régional de Russie et d’autres régions du globe.

À la fin des années 1990 et au début des années 2000, P&WC a travaillé avec Ilyushin, membre de la Compagnie aéronautique unifiée de Russie, sur l’appareil régional IL-114-100. Le vol inaugural de l’aéronef, équipé de deux turbopropulseurs PW127╨¥, s’est déroulé en janvier 1999. L’avion a reçu à la fin de la même année son homologation de type de l’Aviation Register du Comité intergouvernemental d’aviation.
Dix avions IL-114-100 ont été fabriqués en Ouzbékistan pour le compte d’Ilyushin et livrés au client de lancement, Uzbekistan Airways, à partir de 2002. L’appareil a participé à de nombreux salons aériens et a attiré l’attention de clients potentiels de partout dans le monde, mais le programme a plus tard été suspendu.
« L’aéronef IL-114-100 a déjà une longueur d’avance étant donné que sa plateforme est homologuée et que les moteurs PW127H de P&WC ont accumulé plus de 118 000 heures de vol, souligne Nikolay Talikov, concepteur général d’Ilyushin. Avec sa portée de 4 500 km à 460 km/h, il est bien positionné pour le décollage parmi les clients dans les marchés de Russie et des autres régions du monde.
PRATT & WHITNEY CANADA AND ILYUSHIN SIGN A MEMORANDUM TO COMPLETE A FEASIBILITY STUDY IN SUPPORT OF IL-114-100 REGIONAL AIRCRAFT PROGRAM RESTART
Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today with Ilyushin Joint Stock Company of Russia to explore the restart of the IL-114-100 regional turboprop aircraft program with PW127H engines. P&WC is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
Under the MOU, signed during the 2017 Paris Airshow being held at Le Bourget in France, P&WC will support the initial program restart by providing two PW127H engines for IL-114-100 regional turboprop aircraft. Both companies will also cooperate in reaching a new, long-term agreement regarding future regional turboprop programs for Russian and international regions.
« This agreement marks a milestone in Pratt & Whitney Canada’s involvement in the Russian aerospace industry, » said Frederic Lefebvre, Vice-President, Marketing, P&WC. « We look forward to working closely with Ilyushin to make the restart of this highly efficient passenger aircraft a success. »
P&WC and Ilyushin, a member of Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation, originally worked together on the IL-114-100 regional aircraft at the end of the 1990s and early 2000s. The first flight of the IL-114-100, powered by two PW127╨¥ turboprop engines, took place in January 1999 and the aircraft obtained a type certificate from the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee at the end of that year.
Ten IL-114-100 aircraft were manufactured in Uzbekistan on behalf of Ilyushin and delivered to launch customer Uzbekistan Airways starting in 2002. The aircraft participated in many international air shows and attracted the attention of potential customers worldwide at the time, but the program was later suspended.
